Goedecke & Co. is a member of Real Estate Finance Associates (REFA), a national organization of independent mortgage banking firms. Founded in 1979, REFA evolved from the pioneering James W. Rouse Company, the commercial mortgage banking affiliate of the famous regional mall developer. REFA firms are all independently owned by mortgage banker managers who are active in their companies. Through membership in REFA Goedecke & Co. shares information on a real time basis concerning capital market investors and can obtain current real estate market information throughout much of the country. The REFA member firms frequently assist one another when real estate owners from one market own properties in different markets.
